bfit nutrition
Many fitness companies and personal trainers offer “nutrition advice”, the difference bfit can offer is targeted nutrition delivered by our fully qualified and experienced nutritionist. Rachel is a full member of the professional body: The British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT).
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Food isn’t your enemy; it’s your friend. It gives you energy and boosts your health and wellbeing. Instead of thinking about calories, start thinking about nutrients and feeling healthy. If you can do that, you’ll find that good health and weight management happens naturally as a wonderful side effect of healthy eating.
Nutritional requirements differ greatly from person to person, subject to many factors such as; age, genes, dietary patterns, lifestyle, gender, health status, etc… Therefore, at bfit we tailor every nutritional program on an individual basis to help you make realistic changes to get you back on the path to optimal health. Nutritional therapy is about treating the root of the problem, not just the symptoms, by identifying nutrient imbalances and deficiencies and correcting them through diet and lifestyle recommendations.
What are the benefits of Nutritional Therapy?
- Feel more energised
Knowledge and understanding of your individual nutritional needs- Relieve the symptoms of many common health complaints
- Reduce stress
- Improve mood
- Manage your weight safely and effectively
- Enhance sports performance & recovery
- Reduce the risk of chronic disease
- Boost your immune system naturally
- Most of all… Enjoy food!
What is included?
A 15 minute telephone consultation is offered free of charge to discuss your health targets before booking an appointment. Prior to your consultation with Rachel you will be required to complete a week’s food diary and a short health questionnaire, which will be emailed to you once your booking has been confirmed. This is so that Rachel can gain an insight into your health and start working towards your goals in preparation for your first meeting.
Initial Consultation (60 minutes)
A full case history will be taken from you to identify any problem areas and/or imbalances or deficiencies, which will be discussed in detail. Your blood pressure and weight will also be taken, as well as a Bio Impedance Analysis: This is a non-invasive test that gives us an insight into your metabolic health (read more below…). Your Zinc status may also be tested and further clinical testing may be recommended if required.
You will leave with a report of findings detailing what the different measurements mean and what can be done to optimise your health. Following your consultation Rachel will collate your data and create a bespoke treatment plan specific to your needs, which will be emailed to you within five working days. A further telephone consultation of up to 30 minutes is included within the initial price to discuss your treatment plan and answer any questions you may have.
Follow-up Consultations (30 minutes)
Recommended between 3 and 6 weeks after your initial consultation to monitor your progress, review your treatment plan and make any necessary adjustments. The number or frequency of your follow ups varies with each individual, however, most clients will not require more than 6 visits, with many achieving their desired outcome within less.
