bfit Professional Code of Conduct

  • Bfit bootcamp strive to make every session a positive experience for our members and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Always act with high levels of honesty, integrity and competence.
  • Always act professionally and comply with good ethical practice.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and treat everyone equally as well as challenge any form of discrimination
  • Place the well-being and safety of the participants above the development of performance
  • Follow all guidelines laid down by our governing body REPs (register of Exercise professionals) and hold appropriate insurance cover
  • Develop an appropriate working relationship with participants (especially children), based on mutual trust and respect. We will not favour one participant over another or exert undue pressure on the participants and will be reasonable in our demands on them
  • Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance
  • Hold up-to-date and nationally recognised governing body coaching/instructing qualifications REPs Continuing development points (CDPs)
  • Ensure the activities we direct or advocate are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of the individual
  • At the outset, clarify with participants (and where appropriate with their parents) exactly what is expected of them and what participants are entitled to expect from you.
  • Co-operate fully with other specialists (e.g. other coaches and instructors, officials, sports scientists, doctors, and physiotherapists) in the best interests of the participants
  • Always promote the positive aspects of the sport/activity (e.g. fair play) and never condone rule violations or the use of prohibited substances
  • Teach the participants that honest effort is more important than victory
  • Consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance. Set a good example which others can follow
  • Arrive in plenty of time to set up the activity and ensure safety checks are done prior   to the activity and that all necessary paperwork is completed
  • Keep ourselves updated about sound coaching/instructing practices and the principles of growth and development
  • Never transport young people in our vehicle, unless for emergency reasons for which we will have received written consent from a parent, guardian or carer
  • Conduct all dealings with children in a public environment in full view of others
  • Never leave a child unsupervised and challenge any unfamiliar face within the activity area
  • Never ridicule or shout at a participant or child for making a mistake or losing
  • Ensure that physical contact is appropriate and is carried out with the participant’s full consent and approval and not engage in any form of sexually related contact with any participants
