Winter Bootcamp Essentials

Dec 7th, 2011 by James No Comments

As the nights draw in and the weather turns its cold and rainy shoulder towards us, having the appropriate attire to get the most from your outdoor bfit bootcamp is essential.

We recommend the following items to enhance your training and help to prevent injury:

  • Trail shoes - Trainers with a good grip to combat the slippery outdoor conditions
  • Gloves - A winter bootcamp essential (see below for our faves)
  • Warm trousers - ski pants are great for this (get cheapies from TK Maxx)
  • Layers - lots and lots of them… top them off with one of our fab new hoodies!
  • Hat/headband - to keep your ears cosy-toasty

Product Review: Sealskinz

Say goodbye to chilly fingers and toes with these Sealskinz products you will ‘glove’ (gettit?!).

These fully waterproof, windproof and breathable gloves are perfect for bfit bootcamp.  In the past, waterproof gloves have meant bulky, and cumbersome ‘ski-type’ gloves, but these Ultra-Grip gloves by Sealskinz give you all of those benefits, in the size and shape of a normal woollen glove.

No, they are not actually made from seals (!) but from high performance materials that keep you dry, even when you are out in the pouring rain.  Lined with merino wool, for extra warmth and moisture wicking, they have grip dots on the palm which ensure an excellent grip, even in the wet.

We have tried and tested these gloves in all weathers at bfit bootcamp and they have stood up to a bfit beasting!  If you’re going to invest in any outdoor kit this winter, we think these are the best gloves out there.  Coming in at RRP £30 they’re not cheap, but we think they’re worth every penny.

We have also just discovered Sealskinz socks, so even if your trainers are soggy, your feet can stay toasty.
